Security incidents reporting

A security incident is the act of violating or imminent threat of violation of computer security policies or standard computer security practices.

Examples of activities that are commonly related to security incidents are:

  • gaining or attempting to gain unauthorized access to a system or its data;
  • attacks meant to disrupt the availability of a service or system (DoS/DDoS attacks);
  • the unauthorized use of a system for processing or storing data;
  • changes to system hardware, firmware, or software characteristics without the administrator's consent.

CORIS-STS provides assistance for its clients and support in coordinating the response activities to security incidents, in order to recover from an incident. Support activity may involve technical assistance for interpreting the collected data, providing contextual relevant information, support in case solving and recovery.
